![]() ![]() ![]() I also use Edit with Emacs to leave comments which solves all the issues I have with trying to type comments in a browser, and topping this off with poet-mode in Emacs just makes typing Markdown an absolute charm. (through Emails usually) I've also got key bindings setup in XMonad to raise and kill the current VLC window and create a new one, such that watching recently downloaded videos is as simple as M-c v n. I use uMatrix to prevent YouTube from downloading videos, and I use uBlock to hide the video elements and site headers, such that I can control when I want to see my notifications. ![]() On top of that I can do all of this from Reddit too, and anywhere there's a YouTube link really, leaving me far more flexibility and control then I would of otherwise had with MPV. I also want to do all this from my YouTube feed, since recommended videos and comments are a big part of consuming YouTube content, as such variable-pitch and variable-size fonts are things I want, and so are profile images and thumbnail images. I find that most videos download in less then 10 seconds anyways, so by the time I selected multiple videos for viewing, and opened the comment section of the one I want to watch, it is usually done downloading anyways. Most of YouTube splits audio and video into two, which results in MPV being incapable of playing the content until it's finished downloading. That usually will not work seamlessly from my experience. ![]()
